During the High season of April to September, it is recommended that bookings are made a good three months in advance.

 

For the low season, bookings should be made about 6 weeks in advance. Once bookings are made and deposits paid, it is very difficult to change the date of your trek. In addition, if any cancellations occur, these places will go unused as it is prohibited to transfer the booking into someone else's name.

MOLLEPTA TREK - PERU

ITINERARY

Day 1. Lima
Arrival in Lima, reception and transfer to your hotel.

 

Day 2. Lima - Cuzco (B)

Arrival in Cuzco, reception and transfer to your hotel.

 

Day 3. Cuzco - Mollepata - Silcaykancha - Soraypampa (BLD)

Scenic bus drive to Mollepata, an attractive village built on a hillside and overlooks the deep citrus producing valley of the Apurimac. Stop off at the ruins of Tarawasi before we start trekking. Stop for lunch at Silcaykancha, and continue to Soraypampa. Camp between the peaks of Salkantay and the Humantay.

 

Day 4. Soraypampa - Colcapama (BLD)

Trek over a high pass at 4700m. Then down to camp in the valley below. We trek into a hidden part of the high Andes, where our path is the only access into this remote area. We will camp at Colcapampa at 3300m.

 

Day 5. Arranyanniyoc - Lluscamayo (BLD)

Continue towards Lluscamayu for lunch. We will traverse over snow-caped mountains to Andean landscapes with a great variety of flora and fauna and an known for its Orchids. We will find hummingbirds and flocks of parrots. Camp.

 

Day 6.Lluscamayo - Agua Calientes (BL)

After breakfast, we board a rural transport (truck) towards Santa Teresa, where we will start our walk along the forest edge and appreciate a great variety of coffee cultures, fruit trees, and some cultures of coca leaf. Soon we arrive to La Oroya , and cross the Urubamba River. Overnight in a hostel in Aguas Calientes.

 

Day 7 Machu Picchu - Cuzco(B)

Early transfer to Machu Picchu ruins (25 min.). Full day's guided tour of Machu Picchu. Return to Cuzco with the Backpacker class train. Transfer to your hotel.

 

Day 8. Cuzco- Puerto Maldonado (BLD)

Flight to Puerto Maldonado. Transfer by road and boat to the Madre de Dios River. Overnight Corto Maltes Amazon Lodge.

 

Day 9. Amazon Jungle (BLD)

Walk to the salt lick to see the amazing spectacle of dozens of parrots and parakeets arriving to eat on special clay necessary for their metabolism. Breakfast. Visit Monkey Island by boat and Lake Sandoval. Return to the river at night for the chance of seeing nocturnal animals.

 

Day 10. Amazon - Lima (B)

Transfer to the airport for the return flight back to Lima.

 

Day 11. Depart Lima (B)
