The world's remaining mountain gorillas live in three countries spanning four national parks - Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, Volcanoes National Park, and Virunga National Park. In Rwanda, you may only track gorilla within Volcanoes National Park, a section of the bigger Virunga mountains.
Approximately 480 mountain gorillas live in the Virunga complex and reside on the altitude range of 2,300 to 4,500 meters in the southern area of Virunga National Park (in the DRC), as well as the Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda, and some in Uganda's Mgahinga National Park. Gorilla Permit Availability and Cost Gorilla tracking permits are limited to 8 permits per gorilla family per day.
UGANDA MOUNTAIN GORILLA ITINERARY
Day-1:Entebbe
Arrive at Entebbe, pick up and transfer to Kampala for a city tour, dinner and overnight. Dinner and overnight Hotel Africana for Midrange
Day-2: Lake Mburo National Park
Morning Drive to Lake Mburo National Park with a stopover at the equator, afternoon enjoy a boat ride on Lake Mburo. Overnight at the Kigarama wilderness for Midrange
Day-3: Bwindi
Morning Game Drive and transfer to Bwindi Forest National Park, with lunch on the way. Overnight at the Buhoma Haven Lodge for Midrange
Day-4: Bwindi
After an early morning breakfast, we will be transferred to the national park headquarters for a briefing by the guides before departing on the hike in search for the Great Mountain Gorillas. The excursion in a thick rainforest and the interaction with the mountain ape, provide a wonderful life experience. After returning to the lodge, have the rest of the day free for relaxing. Day-5: Entebbe - depart
Morning transfer to Kihihi Airstrip for a domestic flight to Entebbe. Arrival Entebbe and connect to your international Flight.
